Usage views provide administrators and educators with real-time insights into how students and teachers are utilizing the MasteryPrep platform. These views help identify patterns of engagement, spot underuse, and guide timely interventions to support program fidelity and effective instruction.
Usage views are particularly useful for:
- Monitoring overall platform engagement.
- Identifying students and teachers who may need additional support.
- Generating reports for coaching, oversight, and program accountability.
Explore the Student and Teacher Usage Views
The Usage section of the platform contains two primary views: Student Usage and Teacher Usage. Each view contains summary metrics and a detailed table, allowing you to track engagement at a glance or drill into individual activity.
Student Usage View (Admins and Teachers)
The Student Usage view shows individual student activity in a sortable table. At the top of the view, summary widgets show key metrics—such as average time spent, average number of questions answered, and completion rates—to highlight overall engagement trends.
This view helps educators:
- Understand how consistently students are using the platform.
- Spot low engagement early and take action.
- Compare usage across student groups and class rosters.
Note: Teachers only see student usage data for their assigned classes.
Teacher Usage View (Admins Only)
The Teacher Usage view gives admins a high-level snapshot of educator activity across the platform. At the top, summary widgets display platform-wide trends including average days active, average participants, and overall completion and performance rates. Next, a sortable table displays individual teacher activity, including the time spent, and engagement from their students.
This view helps administrators:
- Identify teachers who may benefit from support or recognition.
- Compare usage across schools, grade levels, or content areas.
- Monitor adoption patterns and the impact of training initiatives.
Using Usage Views Effectively
1. Open Usage — Go to Insights > Usage to access engagement data.
2. Select a View — Choose Student Usage on Teacher Usage.
3. Review Engagement Patterns — Start with the widgets to get a high-level overview of platform activity. Then, dive deeper with the sortable table that can be filtered by group or date range, and click a student or teacher name to review detailed history.
4. Identify Support Needs — Look for students or teachers with limited activity and use filters to focus on specific classes or cohorts. This can guide outreach, training, or coaching.
5. Export or Share Data — Use Download to export filtered data for reports or Print View to share summaries in meetings or planning sessions.
Summary
The Usage views help ensure that all stakeholders are actively using the MasteryPrep platform. By identifying low engagement early, schools and districts can provide timely support, improve program fidelity, and demonstrate accountability. The exportable data supports supervision, reporting, and continuous improvement.
